<p><b>I had a wonderful afternoon and night in an awesome spot among the trees. </b><b>The forest isn&#8217;t far from where I live, so after work I headed out for a wander through the forest to a hillfort. I then stopped and found a spot to camp on the return journey.</b></p>

<p>An interesting camp. I found a great spot alongside a stream and set up the hammock. The night sky was beautiful, and plenty of bats took to the air at dusk.</p>

<p>Another deleted camp that I am putting up again. I took the Dutch Army hooped bivvi out again.</p>
<p>It was a fantastic spot, and the bivvi blended in so well with its surroundings, sitting below the height of the surrounding bracken.</p>
<p>There was a lovely sunset, but I couldn&#8217;t sit and enjoy it because the midges were terrible that night.&hellip;</p>

<p>An old camp I mistakenly deleted. It was a lovely night, but a cold one.</p>
<p>I headed out for a quick night in the forest with a friend. We found a great spot alongside a small river, with perfectly flat grass banks that were ideal for the tent and bivvi.</p>

<p>A lovely, quiet forest in Dorset.</p>
<p>It’s a fairly large area with a mixture of heathland and forested sections, including some big old fir trees with plantation areas too.</p>

<p>The hillfort itself has plenty of options for camping. The ramparts are high, some overgrown with brambles and ferns, while on the summit there’s a large flat grassy area with no trees, just a few sheep grazing. I picked a spot on a narrow path on top of a rampart path. The ferns&hellip;</p>

<p>       This great little spot and I set up on the grass track behind a bush where I cooked a hot meal on a wet and rainy evening. I wasn’t disturbed and heard no one apart from cattle in an adjacent field.  </p>

<p>       This place is a real gem. It offers beautiful woodland with winding forest tracks, plenty of open meadows, a river, and best of all – no people. </p>
<p>The sound of the nearby motorway didn’t bother me, but it was loud. It’s a major route in and out of London, and the noise carried on through the night and might be off-putting to&hellip;</p>

<p>       Only the very top of the hill is actually raised and it is flat and grassy at the top and surrounded by trees, which obscure the views from the top. There are gaps in the trees where is it visible to see surrounding hills and even the coast  </p>

<p>  I came across this rundown bird hide a long time ago and promised to return. </p>
<p>  So tonight was the night. A rather blustery, wet and windy late October evening. </p>
<p>  I had a litter pick around the hide and found a plastic bottle, a drinks’ can and some pallet strapping. </p>

<p>Headed back to Surrey for another forest camp. The forest, which is a pretty large area and full of many wide and well-maintained tracks. It also has many small trails that wind through the forests. It’s a bit of a mountain biking heaven with signposted routes and many trails.</p>

<p>I headed out to check out this wonderful chalk hill carving in Wilshire, and to find a spot to camp close by. </p>
<p>The chalk carving was on the side of a large, open hill with plenty of large grass areas, but I ended up camping in a not-so-ideal spot nearby.</p>

<p>       This was an awesome spot &#8211; my camp was pretty much above the chalk carving.</p>
<p>       I was lucky enough to have a beautiful evening, an even better sunrise and managed to bag the local trig point. </p>

<p>From the moment I entered the common and wooded area &#8211; which is the whole stretch of woodland &#8211; I only saw one dog walker.  </p>
<p>          The woodland itself is a long, narrow strip between farmland, with a few protruding sections that dangle down into the farmer’s fields. I entered via one of these protruding bits from the village I&hellip;</p>

<p>     Late May 2025 </p>
<p>     I decided that on this camp, I was going to bag a spot I’d been meaning to camp on for a while. I didn’t get the weather I’d hoped for, so the sunsets and sunrises were saved for another day. </p>

<p>      I headed to an area that looked like it had plenty of potential hammock camping spots for my first one of the year. </p>
<p>      I spent the afternoon wandering, and there was so much to see in the area. I visited the Hell Stone Dolmen while on the way. It&#8217;s definitely worth a visit. It&#8217;s not particularly hard to find, but it is&hellip;</p>

<p>       This was my third time camping along this stretch of chalk cliff tops of this stunning stretch of coastline.</p>
<p>There are plenty of large, grassy areas along this cliff top. I set up the bivvi and settled down.  I twice heard a stamping sound. The second time, I looked out and saw the silhouette of a large deer &#8211; that wasn’t on&hellip;</p>
