Hillfort, Dorset | Nortent Skjul Bivvi Camp

    End of July 2026

Another wonderful evening spent on top of another hillfort in Dorset.

Here is the YouTube link to the kit video showing everything I took: Nortent Skjul Camp | Dorset Hillfort (link to be added)

I was fortunate enough to enjoy not only an amazing sunset and sunrise, but also an almost full moon. It was just one night before…

A Woodland in Wiltshire | DD Hammock Camp

    Mid-July 2026

It had been a while since I’d spent a night in a decent woodland, and it had also been a while since I’d used the DD Hammock.

A big reason was to go trig bagging, then find a spot for the night and make camp.

The night time temperature was going to be below zero, so I was double-bagging tonight. I’ve been to…

Dorset Hilltop- Nortent Skjul Bivvi Camp

    Late July 2025

Another hillfort, and another hill in Dorset.

The hillfort itself has plenty of options for camping. The ramparts are high, some overgrown with brambles and ferns, while on the summit there’s a large flat grassy area with no trees, just a few sheep grazing. I picked a spot on a narrow path on top of a rampart path. The ferns…
