Moor Copse, Reading, Berkshire: Nortent Skjul Bivvi Camp Setup

    Late May 2025

This place is a real gem. It offers beautiful woodland with winding forest tracks, plenty of open meadows, a river, and best of all – no people. I only saw one other person during my time there, and that was after I’d walked through the entire area and brushed the A340 and its car park, and that’s where I saw a dog walker.…

Lewesdon Hill, Dorset: Nortent Skjul Bivvi Camp On The Highest Point In Dorset

    Early April 2025

Lewesdon hill is the highest point in Dorset at 279 metres, I thought it would be a good place to check out.

I had wandered around this amazing area in the hope to…

    Early October 2025

My original plan wasn’t to camp where I eventually did. The intention was to head this way to bag the two trig points at Bishopstone Down and Compton Hut, then camp near Compton Badge. It didn’t quite go to plan.

Here is the YouTube link to the kit video of everything I took with me, including a quick look at my DD…

Disused Bird Hide, Dutch Hooped Bivvi Camp, Wareham, Poole Harbour, Dorset.

    End of October 2022.

I came across this rundown bird hide a long time ago and promised to return.

So tonight was the night. A rather blustery, wet and windy late October evening.

I had a litter pick around the hide and found a plastic bottle, a drinks’ can and some pallet strapping.

I stayed dry in the bird hide, and it was a wise,…
