If you’re looking for the exact dimensions of the OEX Phoxx 1 V2 tent – and how they actually feel in real use – here’s a quick rundown.

Quick Answer

The inner dimensions are:

253cm (L) x 84cm (W) x 70cm (H)

On paper it’s compact – but in real use, the length is enough, and 99.9% of people will have no issues fitting into it.

Outer dimensions (for reference):

260cm (L) x 164cm (W) x 75cm (H)

Real Use (Over 6ft)

I’m over 6ft (183cm) and fit inside without any issues.

That’s not always the case with some smaller tents. I’ve laid diagonally in some, and still struggled to stretch out. The extra length here makes all the difference.

Before purchasing, I looked around at many other tents, looking closely at the length and width of the sleeping area.

The Phoxx offers both adequate length and width for someone my size. In fact, it’s quit generous compared to some other tents on the market. It gives you enough room to stretch out and store gear.

What the Dimensions Actually Mean

Inner dimensions:

253cm (L) x 84cm (W) x 70cm (H)

On paper it’s compact – but in reality, it’s plenty long enough and wide enough.

With the inner length at 253cm, that’s more than long enough for most users. No brushing the ends with your head or feet.

Outer dimensions (for reference):

260cm (L) x 164cm (W) x 75cm (H)

Length

Length (253cm):
Plenty long enough for taller people. No brushing the ends with your head or feet.

Width

Width (84cm):
It’s not spacious, but it is wide enough for one person in a sleeping bag to be able to move around, turn and lay sideways.

Low height – about level with a 48L pack.

Height

Height (70cm):
It’s low. You’re not going to be sitting up in it. This is a lie-down and prop yourself up using your arms shelter.

Out Camping

I think the compact size is more a positive than a negative. It fits in spots that other tents would struggle to get into. If need be, the flysheet can be collapsed on one side to allow the tent to be pitched in a narrow area. This is a big plus for the Phoxx 1V2.

Fits where larger tents won’t.

Final Thought

The dimensions won’t suit everyone – but if you’re used to smaller setups, then this tent will make perfect sense.

For me, the adequate length is a great standout feature. The rest is just keeping things simple and keeping a low-profile.
