    The Cotswolds Gloucestershire

    Early August 2025

Another week, another county, another hillfort. This time it was Gloucestershire. Like so many of my recent trips, it was another windy visit.

This place had a bit of everything: trig points, Iron Age Hillfort, wild areas and flat grassy sections. The views…

Forest Hammock Camp, Dorset | DD Hammock Camp

    Early May 2025

I headed to an area that looked like it had plenty of potential hammock camping spots for my first one of the year.

I spent the afternoon wandering, and there was so much to see in the area. I visited the Hell Stone Dolmen while on the way. It’s definitely worth a visit. It’s not particularly hard to find, but it is…

A lesser Known Hillfort, Dorset: Phoxx 1V2 Tent Camp

      Late April 2025

I visited this unknown hillfort as a recommendation. it is a quiet spot that felt like somewhere mostly known to locals – the kind of place where people walk their dogs.

It’s easy to get to to reach, and the site itself is a small hill topped with a woodland. The trees hide the Iron Age hillfort and an old folly which…

Jurassic Coast, Dorset: Nortent Skjul Bivvi Camp

      Mid-April 2025

This was my second camp on the chalk cliff tops along the Jurassic Coast, and it didn’t disappoint. The weather took a turn when I arrived, with temperatures dropping, which meant I pretty much had the place to myself.

I wandered up to Bat’s Head to watch the sun set over White Nothe.

      There were a…
