      Bat’s Head Dorset.

      7th July 2023

An awesome solo bivi camp on a dull and windy night.

I’ve walked past Bat’s Head while walking along the SW Coastal path many times and I’ve always wanted to camp here.

On a spur of the moment thing, I took the opportunity on an overcast Friday evening.

A view of Durdle Door to the East and White Nothe to the West. This place was lovely and peaceful.

      coordinates:

      50°37’22.9″N 2°17’27.0″W

      Getting there:

I jumped off the train at Wareham and walked the 10 miles / 16 km.

      Heads up:

The SW Coastal Path gets busy during the day. But in the evening, after the hill runners have left, the place is quiet. Surrounded on both sides by a steep climb and with the light fading, I wasn’t disturbed. Looking towards Durdle Door, it’s possible to see anyone approaching.
