Community Guidelines And Rules

At OurScapes, our mission is to create a free and welcoming resource for wild and stealth camping enthusiasts to share their favourite spots, tips, experiences and advice. We are dedicated to building a community where members can connect and learn together. The goals of our community  are:

  • Sharing: Shared knowledge about locations, travel tips, and equipment will improve everyone’s camping experience.
  • Respect for Nature: We are committed to promoting responsible camping practices that preserve and protect our natural environments.
  • Community: We aim to foster a supportive space where members can form meaningful connections, engage in discussions, and support each other.
  • Safety and Responsibility: We prioritise the safety and well-being of our members by promoting best practices and responsible behaviour in all camping activities.
  • Growth and Innovation: In time, we will expand our platform to include forums, groups, and business opportunities along with creating a dynamic and evolving resource for all things related to wild and stealth camping. Just give us some time as Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Our goal is to inspire and equip our community to explore the great outdoors responsibly, share their adventures, and support one another in their love for camping. Join us in creating a free and resourceful community where every member can contribute and benefit towards a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

To ensure an awesome environment for all members, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

Respect

  • Be Respectful and Courteous: We all share a common interest, so let’s be polite and communicate with respect. Harassment, discrimination, and offensive language are not tolerated.
  • Supportive Environment: Offer help, advice, and support to fellow members. Contribute your tips, experiences, and knowledge about wild and stealth camping. Your input helps improve the community.
  • Stay On topic: The goal of OurScapes is to create a useful resource about a past time we enjoy, so please stay on topic and keep discussions relevant to wild and stealth camping.
  • Positive Engagement: Engage in constructive discussions. Personal attacks, trolling, and inflammatory comments will not be tolerated.
  • Respect Opinions: Understand that others may have different opinions and experiences. Engage respectfully and open-mindedly.
  • Leave No Trace: Encourage and practise the Leave No Trace principles. Share tips on minimising environmental impact and preserving natural spaces. Please do not post about fires.

Content Standards

  • Relevant Content: Share posts and photos that are relevant to wild and stealth camping. Irrelevant content will be removed.
  • No Spam: Spam involves contacting people with unwanted content or requests. This includes sending bulk messages, excessively posting links or images to people’s timelines, and sending friend requests to people you don’t know personally. Spam can spread by clicking unsafe links or installing malicious software. 
  • Please no posts about fires: Please do not post or share stories and information about fires.

Reporting and Moderation

  • Report Issues: If you see content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, report it to the moderators.
  • Moderation Decisions: Respect the decisions of the moderators. They are here to ensure the community remains a positive platform for everyone.

If you experience or witness any behaviour that doesn’t follow our community guidelines, please contact us directly at contact@ourscapes.com. All reports are kept confidential.

In the event of someone violating these guidelines, we will take action to protect other members of the group. This might include a warning or in the event of extreme or repeat behaviour, the member may be banned from the community.
